The convened Humboldt Kolleg has the objective of raising awareness. Thanks to its partners, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation can support as many as 50 Humboldt scholarships in a year and already has some 29,000 AvH alumni from 129 countries. The selection of beneficiaries is based on scientific excellence, and there are only 30% of female recipients worldwide, a reason for many more women to apply.
